If you are a US citizen you do not require Visa, but in order to enter South Africa it is imperative that you have at least 2 completely blank (unstamped) pages in your passport. These pages are in addition to the endorsement/amendment pages (as many as four) at the back of the passport. To be on the safe side have a few extra blank pages as well as the 2 requisite ones.
